Today’s dumbass award goes out to the U.S. Departmet of Veterans Affairs after they made a huge mistake.  They sent more then 600 veterans letters by mistake that told them they’d been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease.  The department claims the mistake was due to a “coding error.” Now the VA will call every vet who received the bogus letters to explain the mistake, and they’ll reimburse them for medical expenses they incurred after getting the letter seeking treatment.  My question: why would you send someone a letter in the first place telling them they had Lou Gehrig’s??
