If you’re going to scam people over the phone, you gotta pay attention to who you call. A police officer in Ohio got a call from a man who claimed to be from Publisher’s Clearing House and wanted to inform him he’d won $950,000 and a new Mercedes. The scammer then said all he had to do to claim his prizes was give him his personal info – that of course could be used for identity theft. The officer gave him his police ID and the scammer quickly hung up. Whoops! It’s always instant karma when a scam artist meets their match.
