On top of their upcoming 2019 stadium tour, Mick Jagger has reportedly been curating music for a ballet set to the Stones’ music. Jagger’s top-ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick has just finished her role in “The Nutcracker” and is now working on choreographing her first ballet.
In November, Hamrick said she was excited for her upcoming role in The Nutcracker as well as “other projects”. In October, the ballerina shared a video with her son dancing to The Rolling Stones’ “Let’s Spend the Night Together”. No big deal, right? But it was on the stage of the Lincoln Centre Theatre in Manhattan, writing in the caption: “Sneak peek!”
A source explained, “Melanie’s taking a leave of absence from American Ballet Theatre until the spring season. The glamorous ballerina is focusing on choreographing her first ballet — an original piece set to Rolling Stones music, edited by Mick Jagger, with selections from ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want,’ ‘Paint It Black’ and ‘She’s a Rainbow.’ ” The Independent
Her ballet is reportedly set to debut in the US in April.
