I’ve been a hard core Chiefs fan since the early 90′s, but it gets tougher all the time…
Things that make it hard:
1) Not having faith in the quarterback. Brodie Croyle seems to get hurt if someone looks at him too long and Thigpen - well, let’s just say I’m not sold yet. Analysts say he’s terrific statistically, but after watching him throw enough picks, you can’t help but lose faith.
2) Not having faith in the coach. Herm Edwards was hired with a losing record, and it’s been a looong, sluggish path with him at the helm. Oh yeah, and we still have a great big losing record. (2-10) I can’t help but wonder if he has what it takes to get up more wins in the future.
3) Not being able to be happy about a win. Sure we beat the Raiders yesterday, which is always nice – because I hate the Raiders. But since our record is completely pitiful at this point, winning just screws up our draft pick options.
At this point I just feel like a whiner. And there’s still no doubt about the fact that Arrowhead Stadium is still the best place in the world to watch a game. Are you losing faith too?

Thigpen hasn’t been THAT bad-he’s only started 6 games and he’s been decent for the most part. He’s also still just 24, so he’s got time to improve.
But Herm has to go. Any coach that thinks 21 points is “a lot of points” shouldn’t be allowed near the headset.

That is the good thing about Thigpen – he IS young, and will hopefully keep improving. I agree with the Herm Edwards comment. He seems like a nice person and I enjoyed his philosphy when the Chiefs were highlighted in the “Hard Knocks” series on HBO, but I don’t think he’ll be able to lead the Chiefs where fans would like them to go.
