A Georgia man is in an Aiken County jail Monday night, charged with trafficking marijuana.
The sheriff’s department says a deputy stopped 24-year-old Kelvin Spencer because his vehicle didn’t have a license plate. The deputy says he searched the car after smelling marijuana, and found a 22-pound bale of pot with an estimated street value of $20,000.

Heard your news story on the cancelling of the MR340. I want to let you and all of Mid-Missouri know that there are several teams that are going to race on July 27 from KC to St. Charles regardless. We understand the reasons Rivermiles had to postpone, we do not agrre with those reasons, and are not boound by insurance carriers. We most definately disagrre with the Coast Guard and the Water Patrol about ssafety reasons. Our team has logged well over 1000 miles on the Missouri River since January in training efforts, in ALL conditions from ice to flood stage to heat and storms. Same for the other teams that are racing next week. We have prepared since last years race for this and have taken time off from work, rescheduled or families lives etc. You will see dedicated, adventure loving, adrenalin eating professional athletes doing what they love next week. But, it will happen quickly. This race will be over in 36 hours or less and quite possiblt there will be a world record set by someone. I generally like your radio station — classic rock, Daily Dumb Ass, etc. However, I hate those commercials for Trojans and Adult Sex Shops. They are annoying and way too frequent. I am not a prude, but I do not want to hear them when my children are around or at work. It is not appropriate. I should complain to the FCC.
