Journey’s Greatest Hits Reaches Milestone On Billboard 200 Album Chart

Journey’s greatest hits collection that was released in 1988 has surpassed the 500 week milestone on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Gibson.com reports that the album is only the third album to ever to spend that much time on the charts. Bob Marley & The Wailers’ 1984 compilation The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers spent 510 weeks on the charts and Pink Floyd’s classic Dark Side Of The Moon has nearly doubled that by spending an amazing 937 weeks on the Billboard 200.

Journey’s Greatest Hits was released on November 15th, 1988, and debuted on the Billboard chart the following month, peaking at Number 10. It has since sold 15 million copies. A followup album, 2011’s Greatest Hits 2, was compiled by former frontman, Steve Perry.
