Jefferson City Elks Lodge 513 will host its annual “Run for the Vets Motor Rally,” including a dinner, auction, raffles, DJ and dance. Proceeds from the event, scheduled for August 21, 2010 from 10 a.m. to midnight, will go to Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Registration for the motor rally will begin at 10 a.m., with the blessing of the run scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Individual participants will pay $10 and may use any form of transportation. The run is approximately 125 miles round trip, starting at the Elks Lodge (901 Ellis Blvd.) with stops at Tooters Saloon & Steak House (Eldon), Hook’s Bar & Grill (Osage County), Sugar Creek Restaurant (Meta) and Tirebiters (Osage Beach). Participants are to return to the Elks Lodge by 6 p.m.
The lodge will award prizes immediately after the rally. First place will win $100, second $75 and the third $50.
Starting at 12:30 p.m., lodge guests can purchase pork steak or bratwurst dinners for $7 per plate ($4 for ages 12 and under). Around 6:30 p.m., the lodge will host an auction of donated items, and the dance (DJ Bill Arney) will begin after its conclusion.
