Record Store Day is coming up April 22 & Pink Floyd collectors will want to get this vinyl.
It’s been announced that for the first time ever a nearly 15 minute version of Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” will be released. It will come out on one-sided 180 gram black vinyl along with a poster, postcard, & be limited to 4000 copies exclusive to independent record stores.
The Future Heart is reporting that the single was possibly recorded on October 31, 1966 at Thomson studio in Hertfordshire, UK. The only other appearance of this version of the song was used as the soundtrack to a 15 minute documentary about San Francisco by filmmaker Anthony Stern, who was also an acquaintance of Syd Barrett.
