The Recording Academy Has Announced 2018 Lifetime Achievement Honorees

The Recording Academy have announced their 2018 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award honorees.

Headlining the group are Queen, Tina Turner, & Neil Diamond, along with Emmylou Harris, session drummer Hal Blaine, Louis Jordan, and The Meters.

Concert promoter Bill Graham, record exec Seymour Stein, and composer John Williams will receive the Trustees Award.

Studio innovators Tony Agnello and Richard Factor are the Technical Grammy Award recipients.

According to grammy.com a special award ceremony and concert will take place later this summer.

Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement announcing the recipients: “This year’s Special Merit Awards recipients are a prestigious group of diverse and influential creators who have crafted or contributed to some of the most distinctive recordings in music history. These exceptionally inspiring figures are being honored as legendary performers, creative architects, and technical visionaries. Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy.”
