Science proves Holiday Music is Bad for your Health

Science proves what we already know- holiday music is annoying and should only be listened to in short bursts.

A study has proven that holiday music can be bad for your health. Apparently listening to “Jingle Bells” on repeat can cause more stress and irritation than other musical styles. A 2011 Consumer Reports survey found that 23 percent of Americans dread holiday music.

Since we’re already listening to holiday music in stores (the day after Halloween) expect to be distracted, annoyed, or even distressed sooner than ever.¬†That’s because the brain becomes oversaturated, triggering a negative response. Not everyone enjoys the holidays, and the cheerful tunes may reinforce worries about money, work, and spending time with family, causing them to cause even more stress.

Love Christmas music? Don’t worry, we still rock out with our Classic Rock Christmas in December.

Even cooler- check out these guys playing Christmas Carols on Guns.
