VH1 is more known these days for horrible reality shows and the lack of music videos.
But every now and then they’ll play something I like to watch. I found myself glued to the TV last week while they counted down the Top 100 Hard Rock Songs. As usual with a list like this, no one is going to agree with all of them – and I’ve got a few problems with it as well. Check out the list here.
OK…seriously….they put Bon Freakin’ Jovi higher on the list that Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”? I almost started a picket line when I heard that! Also, Hendrix isn’t in the Top 20?? Are you KIDDING ME?? The top song of Hendrix on the list is “Hey Joe” at #22? Where the hell is “Voodoo Chile”? Why would you put Nugent’s “Cat Scratch” on the list, but not “Stranglehold?” Why is Europe’s “The Final Countdown” even taking up a spot on the list?
Anyway, I could go on and on, but hey – it gave me something interesting to watch on TV and I enjoyed seeing the old rock videos and live footage. So I’m dying to know – what did you think of the list? Any major deletions or additions in your opinion? Feel free to post away….
