Elton John Wins His Second Oscar

You may now refer to him as “Two Time Oscar Winner” Sir Elton John.

Elton John took home another gold statue at the 92nd Academy Awards. This time alongside long-time writing partner Bernie Taupin. The duo won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again which you can hear during the end credits of the biopic ‘Rocketman’.

Back in 1995, Elton John won the Oscar for Can You Feel The Love Tonight” which he wrote for Disney’s ‘The Lion King’. He was also nominated that year for his songs, “Circle Of Lifeand “Hakuna Matata”.

As Elton and Bernie took the stage to accept their award, Taupin joked, “Well, this didn’t suck”.

Elton John is currently on his farewell tour. He is scheduled to come back to Missouri one last time to perform at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis July 7th, 2020. You can see more on that show and all the show coming to the state at our Concert Calendar.
